I laughed out loud when Lisa and Kevin told me they scheduled around 1~2 hours for nap time. Lisa said she will be having her make up done while everyone sleeps. Kevin gave me a serious look, “I am going to sleep. I don’t care, it’s my wedding and I am going to sleep.” It was hilarious, and they weren’t joking when they showed me their wedding day schedule.
On the actual wedding day Lisa didn’t get to sleep, but Kevin and his brother Mathew did. While they rested they offered me homemade cookies and aloe drink as they played Simpsons on TV. I had never been so stress free capturing a wedding!
Aside from their love for sleep, their drastic difference in height is also the highlight of who they are. It was exciting, refreshing, and challenging to pose them. They scheduled around 3 hours in total for their wedding portrait session. We went to Hycroft in the morning and Olympic Village after the ceremony. A lot of compositions in my head needed to change to match their difference in height. Everything else was beautiful.
We were ahead of our wedding schedule (which rarely ever happens) and the day was sunny while the cherry blossoms were in bloom. We could not have asked anything else to go more smoothly (of course, other than the fact that they could all use some more sleep!)
I went to visit Lisa and Kevin after their wedding to deliver the photos as well as discuss album design. We spent a good 3 hours chatting, album designing, and enjoying more of their homemade cookies and aloe drink. It was a real pleasure to capture their wedding day while I was warmly treated like a family friend. They shoved me with more cookies and aloe drink when I left.
Thank you Lisa! Thank you Kevin! You guys officially kicked off our awesome summer 2013!
Love Jun & Marie
