A nature's wedding

A nature's wedding // Megan Mike

Sometimes we are in the midst of focusing so hard on what is on our to-do list that we forget to just heave in a deep breath and take in the beauty of our surroundings. I’m certain we can all agree to living life sometimes without showing how appreciative we are to those who have been by our side from the very start. We learned from this wedding that we should always be appreciative.  It also re-affirmed for us that time is the ultimate test out there to prove how strong the bonds of a love between two people can be.

Megan and Mike had their wedding on September the 13th. Friday the 13th. Many who don’t know this awesome couple would have probably questioned their choice of date for the wedding. But to them, the date was never an omen of bad luck. Rather opposite! Mike was born on a Friday the 13th. It was also exactly twelve years ago that Megan and Mike had first met. With those twelve years, they have traveled across countless countries, and vowed to travel and experience even more.

The couple were both originally from Kamloops, and had first met at Megan’s high school dance. Mike was not from the same school. Besides already finding Mike rather hunky, apparently this factor made him much more attractive! They exchanged phone numbers that night. Three days had passed, but for some reason neither had the courage to call each other. Maybe they were both shy! We’ll never know. With the help of Megan’s awesome friend Tracy, who dialled Mike’s number and put it to Megan’s ear, and then – well, you know the rest :)

Besides having a wonderful couple and bridal party to work with, we had a great time shooting at Chilliwack’s Minter Gardens. Sadly it would be the last experience for us. We learned that the Gardens would be closing its doors this year to the public after three decades of being open to the public. We still remember going as children with our parents. It’s sad to see it go! :( At least we were given the amazing opportunity to take in a deep breath and appreciate our surroundings once again as we witnessed the amazing vows Megan and Mike gave at their wedding.

A shoutout: The wedding vision could not have been achieved with the talented girls at Modern Mint! Natural wood, glass, lace, rustic, and their wonderful imagination were used to put  the Chantilly themed inspiration together.
