Neda and Hadi’s wedding was extravagant with their closest friends and family by their side. Although their wedding stands on the smaller scaled end, there was nothing grander than the aura and the acute detail fixed into each and every nook and cranny. Laughter was filled in the room as if there were invisible surround sound speakers constantly playing the ambience laughter. But we all knew it was 100% real; as real as Neda and Hadi’s passion for each other.
We had the privilege of attending a traditional Persian wedding. It was beautiful, emotional, and spiritual. Center stage was the Sofreh Aghd, a single table that overflowed with food, decorations, and intimate items belonging to the bride and groom. Each Sofreh Aghd is unlike any other. Meticulously planned and lovingly put together and laid out on a luxurious fabric, items were of sentimental value and importance to Neda and Hadi and their families. The wedding table is the centerpiece of all Persian wedding festivities.
Neda and Hadi’s wedding was something we’ve never encountered before. The Persian tradition is uniquely different than any other wedding we’ve been to. It opened our minds and our hearts to something entirely new and exciting, just like Neda and Hadi’s new journey ahead of them. The Sofreh Aghd was beautifully pieced together and the wedding was absolutely flawless. There is only one word to describe it, and it is elegant. I suppose their wedding elegance truly reflects the loving couple. With their religion on one side and their love on the other, together there is nothing that can tear down the Great Wall of Love they have built.
